Here is the preparation for my magnificent garland, which due to a lack of patience morphed into...
a mantelpiece decoration instead...much easier and infinitely less stressful.
On Sunday we held our annual Christmas party for some of our neighbours and friends
And then it was a final week at work and school and all too soon it was Christmas Eve and I had rearranged the mantelpiece decor...all that was needed now was for some sharp eyed person to notice...
Thankfully it was Nick that noticed before Tom or Lily discovered it and it was carefully rearranged back to say Christmas again.
Tom made Nick a model Concorde for Christmas and I got a book of vouchers for such things as hoovering, making dinner, washing up and unlimited kisses and hugs from Tom which was wonderful...Unfortunately there are terms and conditions attached and I'm not at all sure I'll ever be able to get dinner made or the hoovering done but I can live in hope.  At least I will get the kisses and cuddles.
Tom had just asked for money for christmas as he had been saving up since August to get the Lego Death Star (cost £275).  Unbeknown to him, I had already ordered it as I knew he would have enough money after Christmas to pay for it and I got a big discount during a sale last month :)  So on Boxing Day we went to order it online before his grandparents left for the farm and lo and behold there it was!  Needless to say, that is the last we saw of Tom (which is why I didn't reveal it on Christmas Day).
The instruction book that comes with the set is 260 pages long and ringbound...the bets are now on for how long it's going to take him to emerge from his room with the completed Death Star.

We went to the Air Force Christmas Draw last Saturday night and spent last Sunday recovering from what was a very good night!
The weather has been a bit rubbish recently and the Tay Bridge has closed twice whilst I have been at work in Dundee, making me have to drive home via Perth which is a real pain.  Lesley came up on Tuesday and was delayed with the weather as well and also on her way home on Thursday.  Whilst she was here on Wednesday we went shopping in the morning and then wrapped up our gifts. Once the children were home from school we decorated the Christmas tree and listened to Christmas carols.  A lovely day.
Today I have washed the floors and the windows, vacuumed and bought the wine for tomorrow, I will make a final batch of mince pies in the morning.  I am currently toying with the idea of trying to make some sort of garland with ivy and other greenery from the garden.  Not sure how succesful that will be.  Rest assured I will take photos:)

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

Gosh, I can't remember what we did 2 weekends ago, I guess it was a quiet one, Nick was in Doncaster for a small RAF reunion and we must have just had a lounge about weekend.

I have managed to make 90 mince pies so far before running out of mincemeat this time.  I prepared more mincemeat last night and left it to soak overnight before putting it in the oven this morning so I am feeling quite festive and organised as I am also sitting beside a pile of ready to post christmas cards that I wrote out yesterday as well.
The school was closed last Wednesday due to strike action but as it fell on St Andrews Day (30th Nov) there was a tree planting going on in celebration of the Queens jubilee next year so the 3 of us went along to that and planted some trees and Lily got on the telly!!

Then on Saturday this last week it was the school Christmas Fair and I was helping on the raffle stall so that kept me busy for most of the afternoon.  Sunday we had friends round for lunch and then Nick managed to watch Wolves beat Sunderland on the telly after they left.  All in all a very pleasant weekend.

Friday, November 25, 2011

I got up today all ready to go on the mince pie making for our christmas 'do' only to find the pastry that I started on the other week had gone a little bit mouldy so it had to get thrown in the bin.  So I got everything else ready then went off to Morrisons with my shopping list only to come home later and unpack to discover I had forgotten to buy the flipping pastry.  Oh well, maybe tomorrow ;)

Also, earlier on this week I had just typed up a quick post/tweet on behalf of Printing.com when the phone rang, Angela answered it and was asked if she had just tweeted...not having a clue as to what was going on she passed the phone to me...it was a journalist wanting to know if there was a story and what was going on in downtown Dundee...the moral of the story is don't tweet about traffic and/or police unless you want journalists tracking you down.
Just in case the police were about to come and give me into trouble I quickly deleted my original post and changed it to something altogether more innocuous.  Lesson learned.

We went for a lovely walk up Hill of Tarvit on Sunday...
 The views were spectacular

as were the gates into the gardens.   Nothing much happened last week, Nick was down south until Thursday and then the two of us were out for dinner that same evening.  We had a great night but drank rather a lot so my Friday was quite subdued...not as subdued as some of the others who had been out with us though (they didnt get home until around 0430am - we got home around 0030am).
Caz Smith arrived on Friday, she was visiting us for the weekend.  Had a lovely time catching up with her and all her news.  We pottered around St Andrews on Saturday and then relaxed the rest of the day and on Sunday Caz and Nick went for a round of golf before coming back home for a big Sunday lunch and then a big game of Monopoly which Nick won and then some more relaxing.  Lovely.

Friday, November 11, 2011

After writing my blog last week we headed over to Leuchars for the annual Fireworks/Bonfire night which went with a bang!
Then on Saturday we got up early and drove over to Lenzie as John and his girlfriend, Alison were up.  So we arrived around 10 and had a quick coffee with them before dashing off into Glasgow.  Lily & I went shopping whilst Dad, Nick & Tom went to the Science Museum.
Lily and I got home in time for a late lunch and then we were able to relax for the afternoon before Nick & I got a taxi into Glasgow to attend the Rangers 70's Disco Charity Night.  We arrived in plenty of time to take advantage of the champagne reception in the VIP lounge before being escorted to the chairman's table to enjoy a lovely 4 course dinner with lots of wine:)

Gordon Smith (ex rangers player) & Craig White (Rangers chairman)
The evening was great fun and the 70's disco after the meal was fabulous, the singers, The Soul Kings were brilliant, you couldn't get me off the dance floor
But all too soon it was time for our taxi home again and the evening was over.  Needless to say, we had a fairly slow start on Sunday, Mum made some bacon rolls for us before we drove back home to St Andrews and then poor Nick had his afternoon ruined by having to work (luckily from home, but it was still work) as a problem had arisen that needed some organising.
This week Nick has been very busy and is looking forward to relaxing tonight and tomorrow before Sunday when he has to attend the memorial parade in town and lay a wreath for Remembrance Sunday.
Today I have been catching up with housework, I washed the outside of the bedroom windows (long overdue) cleaned the bathrooms, hoovered, tidied the understair cupboard and did a general tidy around the house before making my first batch of mince pies this year.
They are a perfect one bite size mouthful and there are now only 8 left on the plate.  Oops.
I forgot to mention Lily's news last week.  For her birthday she got a knitting kit from Soma and made this frog (with some help from me).
She then sent a photo of it off to Blue Peter in the hope of getting a Blue Peter badge and finally, some six months later a badge came through the post for her.  Boy, was she excited.
How cool is that?

Friday, November 4, 2011

Whoops, it's November and I havent posted for over a month.  I havent been too busy, more like too lazy.  Been a bit fed up so haven't felt like blogging.
Anyway here's the update...it was the October holidays for 2 weeks and during the first week I held a Boden clothing party which Lily enjoyed immensely as she got to dress up in lots of different clothes.  To be fair, so did I and when Angela came round we dressed up some more and then the next morning when Tom came down for breakfast he caught me and Lily dressing up again and just rolled his eyes and said "you're not still dressing up are you?"  But of course we were - what fool female wouldn't take the opportunity to try on lots of gorgeous clothes in the comfort of your own home!
A couple of days after the party Tom, Lily and I headed off down south for a few days to visit schools.  We had an unscheduled stop at Gran & Grampy's in Lenzie en route due to an unfortunate vomitting incident -  so a shower and quick clothes wash and change was required before we could resume our journey.  And no, it wasn't me that vommed.
After that we sped off down the M6 arriving in Hereford some 6 hours later and found somewhere to stay the night.  The Green Dragon is one of the oldest building in Hereford and appears to have the original floorboards - what a noisy place, I hardly slept a wink, the chap in the room above us appeared to wander around his room all night until about 3am when the floorboards finally fell silent and I finally fell asleep somewhat later.  On Friday we visited Hereford Cathedral School and got shown all around it and then we went on to our booked accommodation in a small village outside Worcester called Leigh Sinton.  Saturday we had our visit to The Kings School in Worcester and got shown around the school by a lovely boy called Ben who is in Year 9.  After that we had some lunch and then drove over to Eastnor Castle for the afternoon where we planned to play in the adventure playground, get lost in the maze and generally have some outdoor fun.  Alas, we got there and it was closed for bloody winter.  A major disappointment to our plans.  Anyway, we went back to the house and pottered around for the rest of the day.  On Sunday we drove an hour down the road to visit with Helen and her kids for lunch and the afternoon, it was lovely to catch up again and nice to know if we move there will be a friendly face not too far away.
Monday was our last school visit and this one was RGS Worcester, then back in the car and up the road, this time for a planned stop at Gran & Grampy's minus the vomit.  Result.
Mum & I went for a quick shop on Tuesday morning without the children, double result and then we headed back home to St Andrews for the rest of the holidays.    Tom & I made some tooth rotting tablet
and then Tom & Nick went hill walking again.  It was a very windy day.

but they appear to have had fun despite the weather.

We have now decided to go for Kings School and have taken the step of registering with them for next year.  So it looks like we will be selling up and moving sometime next summer hopefully for the last time.

Wednesday, September 28, 2011

Gosh, I can't believe we are nearly at the end of September, especially when I look out the window and see glorious blue sky - summer has finally arrived - it is actually hot and sunny today and is expected to last until the weekend with temperatures in the mid 20's (mid 60's F).  Woohoo, better late than never.

I've done another couple of evenings at the Byre Theatre, last weeks Doorways in Drumorty was hilarious, if you get the chance go and see it on tour, I only saw the 2nd half but it was very funny.  I'm back there again tonight but can't remember what's on.

Last weekend saw us all travel to Devon on Friday for Kev & Den's wedding.  After a fraught Thursday night when we discovered Tom's passport had run out in June we discovered that it is ok for a child to travel within Britain with an out of date passport. Phew.  So we all really enjoyed the short flight from Edinburgh to Exeter.  We met up with all the Stringer side of the family for dinner on Friday night and then we had the wedding on Saturday in Tavistock (a lovely little market town) returning to the countryside for the reception later in the afternoon.  Highlights of the day were Kev's face when Den was saying her vows - so much love - I thought Kev's face was about to explode with happiness.  The hog roast was spectacular - very tempted to host a big party now so we can have one, it was truly delicious.  Also, the music was a highlight - some great tunes from the eighties to dance to when the disco started and an unusual group of singers earlier on in the day - Flash Jack?  I think, a group of 5 or 6 men and a lady singing shanties?  Very entertaining.  Unfortunately after the early start on Friday and late night due to the family dinner Lily was exhausted and desperate for bed by around 5.30pm on Saturday, so I spent a couple of hours cajoling her to stay awake until the evening buffet so she could have a quick sarnie before hitting the hay at 8.30pm.   Nick & I were exhausted as well and we finally dragged Tom off the dance floor around 10pm before we called it a night too.  A fantastic weekend.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

It was actually a nice day last Sunday so we had a lovely walk through the woods around St Andrews.  Then a fairly quiet week at school and work - well, quiet for 3 of us anyway.  Nick's stress levels were going through the roof as the airshow drew ever closer, culminating in him not getting home until 1020pm on Friday night.  Then back up at 530am on Saturday to a grey and rainy day.
Thankfully the rain had stopped by mid morning and we grabbed our buckets and spades and Greg and headed off to the beach to watch the show.   The boys got busy digging a trench to protect themselves from the airborne assault and Lily charged about doing whatever it is Lily does.

We had a good couple of hours before the heavens opened again and we had to abandon the beach, luckily not before seeing some of the jets perform for us though.

Nick got home around 9pm a lot less stressed than yesterday thank goodness.  On Sunday he was back into work to tidy up and make sure everything was in order before coming home for a sunday lunch and a relaxing afternoon of sport....on the telly.

Thursday, September 1, 2011

Lesley came up last Wednesday for a visit, her train got in late at night so Nick picked her up and brought her back here for a bowl of soup and a sandwich before bed.  On Thursday we went into town for a potter around the shops and I rather smugly managed to buy her Christmas present for her.  How organised is that?  I did also manage to buy a birthday present for Gladys who turned 1 on the 12 August and I had completely mixed up my dates for that so missed it.  So not such an organised smarty pants all of the time.
On Thursday night Nick & I were out for cocktails at the mess and then I had my shift at the Byre on Friday.  On Saturday night Nick & I were out again, this time round at Jason's for dinner.  We had a great (but very late) night so Sunday was spent mostly lounging except for when we went out for a pub lunch.  On return from lunch we put the fire on as it was a very cold and windy day.
So on Monday I finally managed to cook a nice meal and sit down for dinner with Lesley.  And then it was Tuesday and time for her to board the train back to Somerset.

Wednesday, August 24, 2011

Well the children survived their first week back and school and are half way through week 2 already.  I had a job interview last week which went quite well but I still haven't heard either way if I have the job or not which surprises me.  I felt sure I would have found out by now.
Last Thursday Nick & I went to the R & A for dinner which was a super evening, the food was delicious, the company was good and it's not often ladies are allowed in the R&A so I felt very privileged to be there.  On Friday night I had another shift at the Byre Theatre and got to watch the first half of the Joyce Grenfell show which was actually quite funny.  Back again this Friday for MacFloyd (a Scottish Pink Floyd appreciation band) so quite a different audience I should think.
On Sunday we went out for a walk along part of the Fife Coastal Walk as it was a nice day and we had nothing else planned.  We finished up in Crail in time for a pub lunch before coming home to mow the lawn and potter about.

Monday, August 15, 2011

Nick was away in Coningsby last week from Tuesday to Thursday so he wasn't here for my birthday.  I had a pretty crap day actually, the weather was miserable and we just moped around the house.  I did get some lovely cards though, I even got my card from Angela on time which went some way to cheering me up (she is frequently late).  Anyway, the kids ate pizza and I ended up having a pot noodle for my birthday dinner for the second year running.  Must try harder next year.  We did have a yummy cake though, courtesy of M&S.
We had an uneventful weekend and now it's Monday again and school goes back tomorrow. Yay.

Monday, August 8, 2011

Nick & Tom took the opportunity to go on a hill walk up Ben Cleuch on the Friday 29th while Lily and I took the slightly less energetic option of staying at home and baking cakes.

Then all too soon it was Monday and Nick was back at work, while he had a fairly busy and hectic week, the children and I have had a fairly laid back, leisurely one.  They have been out playing down the Lade Braes with friends most of the week and I have just been hanging around the house ready with food and clean clothing as required.
Mum & Dad came through on Saturday to allow Nick and I to go to the Edinburgh Royal Military Tattoo.  It was a fab night.  We got picked up and driven through to Edinburgh where we helped host dinner for some guests of RAF Leuchars before getting a police escort to the castle esplanade for the show.  We were thankfully in the Royal Box (complete with blankets and a roof) which was great as it was pouring with rain the whole time.  The rest of the audience were all wearing ponchos while we sat in the box in our finery staying nice and dry. It was a very late night though, we eventually got home and into bed at 3am.

Needless to say, Sunday was spent lounging around and napping.

Thursday, July 28, 2011

Well, we are back from our summer holiday and I have managed to get out running a few times.  The week before we left I got up and out at 6am 3 times.  Tom , Lily & I managed a trip to the beach but for once it was the children who decided it was too cold and wanted to come home after an hour much to my delight as I too was frozen and I was wearing clothes and not in the water unlike T & L.  We had a visit from more Americans but this time it was family and just for the day.
Tom, Andrew, Grace & Lily
On Saturday we drove through to mum & dad's for the night before setting off down south on Sunday morning.  We had a night in a guest house before arriving at our cottage in Herefordshire on Monday.  We spent Sunday and Monday morning in and around Worcester looking in estate agents and  schools then on Tuesday we looked around Ledbury and Hereford - both of which are very beautiful towns.

lily riding Misty
The cottage we stayed in was Darren Mill Cottage and was lovely, the daughter of the owners had a pony called Misty and let Lily ride him which she loved.
View of our cottage
On Friday we left the cottage and drove to Wiltshire for a quick visit with Helen who has just got back from the Falkland Islands - we hadn't seen each other since before we left for America so it was lovely to catch up with each other and the children could remember each other too so after a bite of lunch they went off to the play park for an hour or so before we got back in the car to head off towards Bournemouth to see John and the boys.
Tom & Nathan constructing a pond
We had a lovely meal out with John on Friday and then on Saturday we went to Lisa's for the morning and to collect Nathan (unfortunately Conor had a party to attend so couldn't come with us).  We arrived at John's to discover the start of a pond being built so needless to say as soon as Nathan and Tom saw the hole they wanted to build the pond.  We ended up just staying at the house and the boys had a great time playing in the mud pool.  Lily even joined in eventually.  After a chinese takeaway for dinner we took Nathan home and had another game of cricket in the back garden with Conor.  This time using the cricket ball instead of the tennis ball ...  this led to Nick giving Conor a shiner and Nathan a fat lip.  Not good, back to tennis balls in future I think.  All too soon it was Sunday and we were on the move again, this time up to Somerset to visit with Nick's mum & dad.  They are in the middle of an ambitious extension so Tom got to help lay a couple of bricks, sleep in a hammock in the garden with his cousin Benaiah and generally lark around for a couple of days.  Lily had great fun in  the garden with Tallulah & Elsie and everyone adored little Gladys.  The girls all picked cherries from the garden and Nana should have made some jam by now.
Tom & Grampy building the house
We drove back up North as far as my mum & dad's again on Tuesday and as it was a gorgeous day were able to enjoy a delicious bbq with them at the picnic table (no umbrellas in sight this time).  Then we were up early on Wednesday and home by about 10am.  I went out for a quick run and then as Nick is still on holiday until Monday we decided to go out for lunch and then go on to see Harry Potter at the cinema.  What a brilliant film, definitely the best of the lot.

Monday, July 11, 2011

Well, after my brilliant 6am start last Monday there has been no running since.  No excuses other than laziness I'm afraid.  On Tuesday last week Nick and I got dressed up in our finery and went off to Edinburgh to have a cup of tea with the Queen....and a few thousand other people.  We had a lovely time and the weather stayed kind to us whilst we enjoyed our cucumber sandwiches, salmon blinis and delightful petit fours.  The one downside was that we were not allowed to take any photographs so it will just be a memory for us and  not one we can share with you.
The rest of the week was spent doing very little until Friday when I found myself back at Ninewells Hospital....thankfully not for me this time though, Nick had been having a 'sports day' at work when I got a call around 4pm to say he had hurt himself (no drama - not badly) and could I go and collect him from the hospital.  Turns out he had been playing dodgeball - badly I assume -  and had dislocated his pinkie so had to go for xrays and to have it put back in its correct position.
On Saturday Lily was very excited as Emily was arriving with her mum and aunt, their flight was delayed due to bad weather in the US so they finally got to us around 4pm and it was like the two girls had never been apart.  Very sweet.
Colleen, Emily and Wanda
On Sunday we had a sightseeing tour of St Andrews and then went out to Zizzi's for a delicious dinner before walking home via the Lade Braes.
All too soon it was Monday and Nick was back to work and Colleen, Emily and Wanda said their goodbyes and set off on a whirlwind tour of the UK.  The beds are stripped yet again but there's no rush to make them up again just yet.  Tom, Lily and I are having a restful day and then will host our Texan cousins tomorrow for the day.

Monday, July 4, 2011

Well I have finally had my final blood test and my results showed my hcg levels back down to 1 so that's good news. It's funny to think I could have been sitting here nearly 14 weeks pregnant.
Scary thought.
I managed out running 3 times last week and whilst I'm not going to be winning any races anytime soon at least I am back out there.
Nick was down at Waddington from Friday until Sunday evening for the Waddington Airshow and Tom & Lily finished school for summer on Friday.
We had a fairly relaxed Saturday and spent Sunday at the beach with Angela, Amber & Daisy. It was a glorious day, the beach was very busy and we all had a great day out, unfortunately it was spoiled slightly for Ang & Amber by getting sunburnt. Ouch.
So today is the first official day of the school holidays - no making of packed lunches for me, thank goodness. Instead I got up extra early, 6am, and went for a run before Nick went off to work. A good start, hopefully I can keep it up throughout the summer.

Sunday, June 26, 2011

On TuesdayI went back to Ninewells for my final blood test but alas my hormone levels had still not returned to below 5 and were at 20 so I have to go back again this Wednesday which will be exactly 7 weeks after my operation so fingers crossed it will be my final visit this time round.
On Wednesday Craig, Bernice and Christopher arrived for their visit and luckily the weather stayed kind for them too. Craig & Nick managed a round of golf on Thursday while Bernice, Christopher and I mooched around town doing the sights (again!) Then we met up with the boys for lunch.
On Friday the Stallards left around 8am to go north for a bit of a tour around Scotland and I'm pleased to say it looks like the weather has held for them. I was in school all morning helping out with the cycling proficiency test and then came home in time for lunch and a relax on the couch for the rest of the day.
I did a bit of gardening on Saturday (which was long overdue - we have the untidiest garden in the street - but then we are one of the few houses without a gardener!) while Nick was in work overseeing stuff about the Armed Forces Day and then today we went out for lunch since it was our anniversary and we had a £25 voucher for The Rule which I had won at the school fair a couple of weeks ago.
I'm all caught up with the washing and the beds are all made up for our next set of guests, who thankfully don't arrive for a couple of weeks so I have time to fully recharge before it starts all over again.

Monday, June 20, 2011

JoAn & Molly arrived safely on Friday night so on Saturday it was a sightseeing tour around St Andrews. We started off with coffee and cake up at the Castle Course for the panoramic views - unfortunately the weather was awful so the view was too. After that we drove into town and parked by the golf course and walked along the Scores. We visited the Museum, the castle and the cathedral and climbed St Rule's Tower. After all that walking and climbing it was time for an ice cream at Janetta's before commencing our tour round and about the town centre including visits to shops for some retail therapy.
JoAn & Molly took Tom & Lily out for dinner at Pizza Express later on whilst Nick & I went to the Fairmont Hotel for the Midsummer Ball with Ailsa & Andy Primmer and some other friends. After a champagne reception we went through to dinner and as it was a fundraiser there were envelopes on the tables to put your donations in. So we duly did this then put our envelope in the big one in the middle of the table and propped it up and continued chatting away until we were interupted by the smell of smoke - yes I had managed to set fire to the envelope, luckily we managed to salvage our envelope but the big one had a large hole in it so had to go in the bin. You can see the charred top corner and water in the top right corner below. So that was a good way to

break the ice at our table. From there on in we had a great time, the food was delicious, the wine was flowing and the auction was a great success, sadly we didn't win anything and I had a fairly impressive hangover on Sunday. To make it better we all went out for morning coffee and bacon butties and then had a round of golf on the Himalayas putting green.

It was a beautiful day and helped blow away the cobwebs.

We went over to the Swilken Bridge afterwards for a classic photo and I think that's the first time I have ever stood on the bridge in all the years we have lived here.

All too soon it was Monday and the bedding has been washed and is outside drying, the towels are in the machine at the moment, the girls have gone back through to Edinburgh and I am turning the house around in time for our next batch of visitors arriving on Wednesday.

Thursday, June 16, 2011

Once again we haven't been up to much recently so not a great deal to write about. One weird thing happened last week though. The Dr who was on call when I was in hospital phoned me up last Thursday and asked me to do a pregnancy test as she hadn't had the pathology or maybe it was histology results ( i forget) back yet. So I did a test and it shows up pregnant. So of course all sorts of things go through my head and I'm now thinking it might be nice to have another baby after all. Of course when I go back to the Early Pregnancy Unit on Tuesday and give blood they do another ultrasound and there's definitely no baby hiding anywhere but I still have raised pregnancy hormones so have to go back yet again next week for another blood test to make sure they are down to normal not pregnant state otherwise it might mean I need to have some sort of small investigative surgery to see what the heck is going on in there. So my hormones are all shot to pieces at the moment and I'm a bit fed up with it all.
On a happier note the weather has been lovely all week and I have friends arriving tomorrow for the weekend. Joan Adams is arriving, along with her cousin Molly. They have been sightseeing in Edinburgh all week and are coming to us tomorrow just in time for the weather to turn wet and altogether less conducive to taking in the beautiful sights of St Andrews. I have been busy cleaning and tidying the house up (which lets face it, really needed it) but haven't managed to tidy the garden up quite so well, it's still a bit of a mess. oh well, we can't be perfect all the time can we?

Sunday, May 29, 2011

I've been taking it easy the last couple of weeks so there's not a great deal to report really. On Monday I drove a few of us girlies round to Emma's for a girly night in. I ended up announcing it was time to go home at around 1am. So Tuesday I was understandably shattered. I can only imagine how the drinkers with small children felt like. Then on Wednesday it was book club and I was driving again and decided home time was a slightly more civilised 1130pm.
On Thursday it was the Scottish final of the K'Nex challenge which Tom and Rachel were in so it was an early start as we had to drive to Haddington for 10am. We had a great day out but

didn't come back with the winning trophy. The grand final was to be held in London (all expenses paid) so it was a bit disappointing not to get through. 2 teams out of 52 got chosen to go through so they did very well to get this far.

Nick has been a bit under the weather this week coming home at the unheard of time of 6pm on Wednesday and going straight to bed and then Thursday & Friday he got home around 7pm and had a bite to eat and was in bed for 730pm both nights. He seems a lot better now but it looks like Lily might be coming down with whatever it was.
We had Greg round yesterday for the day and today we went out for lunch and a walk along the beach. The walk got cut very short however, because it was so blooming windy again. We had a lovely lunch at The Russel Hotel on The Scores. I recommend the lasagne.

This is my pavlova that I made yesterday, it was delicious and there is a slice leftover in the fridge which I may have to share with my dear husband - luckily it is a fairly generous slice.
